Currencies & Payment Methods
The Caliza platform focuses on global money transfers using stablecoins and supports a wide variety of fiat currencies and payment methods for deposits, transfers, and withdrawals.
Most executions on the platform require an initial conversion to USDC, which serves as the operational base.
Flexibility in Funding MethodsThe API uses the concept of payment rails to specify how the system moves money. You can specify a
funding_methodin a simulation call to indicate that a deposit initiates the transaction (for example, sending Ethereum). The absence of afunding_methodimplies that the platform uses funds already held (such as USDC or USDT).
Supported Currencies
Stablecoins
Stablecoins serve as the primary operational currencies on the Caliza platform. Most deposits are converted to USDC immediately, except for USDT, which is convertible to USDC.
| Currency | Description |
|---|---|
| USDC (USD Coin) | Primary operational currency. Most deposits are converted to USDC immediately. |
| USDT (Tether) | Supported stablecoin that is convertible to USDC. |
Fiat Currencies
Caliza supports multiple fiat currencies for transactions. The table below lists the supported currencies:
| Currency | Description |
|---|---|
| USD (US Dollar) | Primary fiat currency. Supports named USD accounts with ACH and wire capabilities. |
| BRL (Brazilian Real) | Brazilian currency supported for deposits and payouts via PIX. |
| MXN (Mexican Peso) | Mexican currency supported for deposits and payouts via SPEI. |
| COP (Colombian Peso) | Colombian currency supported for transactions. |
| EUR (Euro) | European currency supported for international transactions. |
| EURT | Euro Tether stablecoin. |
| HKD (Hong Kong Dollar) | Hong Kong currency supported for transactions. |
| SGD (Singapore Dollar) | Singapore currency supported for transactions. |
| CNY (Chinese Yuan) | Chinese currency supported for transactions. |
| CNH (Chinese Yuan Offshore) | Offshore Chinese Yuan supported for transactions. |
| ARS (Argentine Peso) | Argentine currency supported for transactions. |
Payment Rails
In Caliza, payment rails are the mechanisms through which money moves. This includes both traditional fiat payment methods and blockchain networks.
Traditional Payment Rails
| Payment Rail | Description | Supported For |
|---|---|---|
| PIX | Brazil's instant payment system | Deposits and payouts in Brazil |
| SPEI | Mexico's electronic payment system (Spay) | Deposits and payouts in Mexico |
| SWIFT | International wire transfer network | Global transactions |
| WIRE | Domestic and international wire transfers | Global transactions |
| ACH | Automated Clearing House (US) | US domestic transfers |
| RTP | Real-time payment systems | Instant payments |
| COP | Colombian payment method | Transactions in Colombia |
| CVU | Virtual Uniform Account (Argentina) | Transactions in Argentina |
SWIFT Country Support
Caliza supports SWIFT transfers to countries worldwide. The API accepts ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes for SWIFT transactions, which include all countries that participate in the SWIFT network.
SWIFT Country Support
Caliza supports SWIFT transfers to all countries that participate in the SWIFT network. When creating a recipient for a SWIFT transfer, you'll need to provide the target country using its ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (e.g.,
USfor United States,GBfor United Kingdom,DEfor Germany). The API accepts all standard ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes, enabling transfers to virtually any country that supports SWIFT transactions. For the full list of supported country codes, see the Supported countries list on the Countries page.
Blockchain Payment Rails
In Caliza, blockchain networks are treated as payment rails. When you specify a blockchain as a payment rail (e.g., ETH, POLYGON, TRON, STELLAR, BASE, SOLANA), you're indicating that the transaction will be processed through that specific blockchain network.
The table below lists the supported blockchain networks and their canonical identifiers:
| Blockchain Network | Canonical Identifier | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | ETH | Ethereum network for USDC and USDT transfers |
| Polygon | POLYGON | Polygon network (also POLY/MATIC) |
| Tron | TRON | Tron network (TRX) |
| Stellar | STELLAR | Stellar network (XLM) |
| Base | BASE | Base network |
| Solana | SOLANA | Solana network (SOL) |
Using Canonical IdentifiersUse the canonical identifier when specifying a blockchain payment rail for transactions or when matching logs/events. For example, use
ETHfor Ethereum,POLYGONfor Polygon, andSOLANAfor Solana.
Currency and Payment Rail Combinations
The following table shows common currency and payment rail combinations used in Caliza:
| Currency | Common Payment Rails | Use Cases |
|---|---|---|
| USD | ACH, WIRE, SWIFT | US domestic and international transfers |
| BRL | PIX | Brazilian instant payments |
| MXN | SPEI | Mexican electronic payments |
| USDC | ETH, POLYGON, TRON, STELLAR, BASE, SOLANA | Stablecoin transfers via blockchain networks |
| USDT | ETH | Tether transfers via the Ethereum network |
